Editorial Foreword
In the difficult and spiritually unsettling early years of British colonial rule in Africa, Nigerians were faced with dire and intimidating circumstances in the cultural sphere. One of the bright lights of that era was the founding of God’s Kingdom Society in 1934 by a man who is much loved and revered in Urhobo history. G. M. Urhobo’s abundant courage helped in the founding of this Christian organization that is as much part of Urhobo history as it is of Nigerian achievements during colonial rule.

Founder
G. M. Urhobo’s unexpected and early death in 1952, a few years after the equally painful experience of the death of Chief Mukoro Mowoe in 1948, traumatized the Urhobo people. Until we are able to publish this brave man’s biography in these pages, please visit with the Church which he founded.
